Tetractys New Music: Here Be Monsters 2024, Night 1

Benjie wears three hats in this event: composer, pianist, and arranger. His new composition, Mga Tunog ng Maynila Sakay and Isang Dyip (commissioned by Tetractys New Music and Kenken Gorder) will receive its world premiere by Kenken Gorder and Friends, he performs as pianist with Panoramic Voices in the world premiere of Sophie Mathieu’s Watermelon, and his arrangement of Blood I Bled by the Staves will be performed by VAMP Vocals with guest percussionist Carolyn Trowbridge. Inversion at the Library

Benjie joins the Inversion family of ensembles in a concert at the stunning Austin Central Public Library. This evening will feature new music from different cultures around the world that revolves around topics such as the various stages of life, community, diaspora, leaving, coming home, and belonging. The concert will be conducted by Artistic Director Trevor Shaw and Da Capo Director Katrina Saporsantos.
